Okay, this is just a rough outline. If no one likes this setting, we can still take the basic idea and alter it to something else XD I like the stat/character limit/etc part.


Setting:

Earth, circa 2010.
Zombie Apocalypse, beginning to middles stages(Approx. 30-45% of the world infected).
Details TBA.
Primarily journal/aim/creative writing rp with mild pen&paper/dice rpg elements.
Writing style: Primarily lazy style, but one may write long-form if they want.

Zombie type:

Biological disease.
Mindless, soulless. Dead. Blood doesn't flow, it's congealed.
No 'willpower' can resist once bitten. Once a zombie, the person they were? = gone.
Cannot be reasoned with, or plead with. They just want to eat you. All of you.
A limb bite can be dealt with by removing said limb.
Being slashed by a zombie's fingernails/claws carries a small chance of getting infected as well, determined by luck.
Also, you don't want to get their fluids on you if you've got open wounds.

Sourcebook:

"The Zombie Survival Guide" by Max Brooks.

Will attempt to upload a digital copy, but isn't required. The important stuff I'll put on a website or a post. Awesome read though >.> But again, not required. The important stuff will be available. Plus? I want to have a character who will carry it with her and reference it, then tell people she told them so when they don't listen to her XD

Base rules:

Up to three characters per mun.
One character of mun's choice designated 'immune' in terms of becoming infected, and gets a large bonus to luck.
Second character of mun's choice gets a small bonus to luck.
Third character recieves no bonuses or minuses.
If a 'luck' roll is too low for #2 and #3 and they're bitten, they're zombies.
Mun is then free to play a new character if they choose.
Characters can and will die.
Probably frequently.
Muns are encouraged to play npcs frequently, and to kill them, frequently.
Even beloved npcs.
Especially beloved npcs.

Immunity note:

Muns are free to share or not.
They must tell the mods (me) but they can keep secret from others, so that no one knows if that character yours is getting close to is fuxxored or not until something happens!

Character 'groups':

Will start off with groups of 2-4 characters (preferably no more or less than 2 muns, but not required) making their way to a 'safe' zone within their country.
Gradually they should all come together.
For the time being, will restrict starting characters to North America, Europe, and Australia.
In that order.

Stats: I moved them to the bottom because it's a bit boring and I want the other info to be more prominant right now.


Weapons: Characters will have one main weapon, one secondary, a designated specialized weapon. There will be a guide to the effectiveness of weapon types against zombies. (EX: Handguns? Are actually not the best weapon against a zombie, because of range and accuracy issues(in terms of emotional stability when fighting zombies. They're very good backup weapons, though. But not as effective as movies would have you believe), neither is a heavy machine gun.)

Gear: All characters will have a basic hiking backpack to fill with gear of their choice. Certain types of clothing will have a minus to certain stats. High heels will DRASTICALLY affect all stats!

Typical Zombie Encounter: Muns are free to rp and and describe the fight however they choose. Characters will roll luck, and probably one or more of the other stats. That determines if they are bitten or not, or severely injured. Immune characters can still be bitten, and even killed, if their mun chooses to do so. Severity of injury is however the mun chooses, guided by what they rolled. Roll a double 1, and you KNOW that character is fucked, but they only die if you want them to XD


Stats:
There will be stats.
Sorta. I want creative freedom to be the most important, but I also think there should be a slightly random element.
Stats are generally only to determine how much can be lifted/carried/pushed, and just how lucky your character is.
Each of the three characters is allowed a 'base' stat which gets a bonus(not counting the luck bonus). I intend to keep rolling to a minimum. The most rolling will be when a character is created. Otherwise, the only rolls will be when faced with either a zombie encounter, or something like..breaking through a barricade. Most important stat is luck.

Characters must also roll for one minus, stat of mun's choice. Stat is chosen before points allocated, rolled for after points allocated.

Luck: Determines if bitten when in a crowd of zombies, how often you get a headshot, if your axe gets stuck in a zombie's head, etc.
Strength: How much you can lift/push/pull/crush/destroy.
Dexterity: How nimble you are, how easily you can evade.
Stamina: How much damage you can take, how much you can carry. Also, how long you can go without rest, food and/or water.

On further thought, may just allow muns to have a 'pool' and allocate stats how they see fit. In fact, I like that idea a lot.

Stamina - 5

Muns may then roll 3 six sided die, and divide the result by half to get a bonus.

Luck - 20 (+10 immune bonus): 30

Stamina - 5 (+7 bonus): 12

A few things I forgot:

I don't like favoritism. It's why I support Gay Marriage. Because anything that's the same rights as marriage but specially named is favoritism. If you want equal rights then you get EQUAL RIGHTS. Nothing special. This goes for race and gender as well.

I consider anything other than marriage favoritism, because you're giving a segment of the population something special. Give them the exact same thing, and it's no longer favoritism. I also get annoyed with people who like to flaunt things and then ask for equal treatment. (see: Feminists who still expect chivalry.)

This falls under the same thing as the draft. Women should be eligible to be drafted the same as men. They fought for their rights, let them face the same risks as men for it.

Illegal immigrants - you aren't going to be able to bloody deport 12 million people.

So here's what should be done. First - streamline the citizenship process. Cut through the red tape so that people who have gone through everything they've been asked and are still waiting get their citizenships can GET them. Don't make it easier, just make it faster. There are reports people have been waiting 6 months to a year and many of them won't get to vote in November. That's not right.

Secondly. Because deporting 12 million people would be a logistical nightmare, make a special type of green card for them. Pay for it in part with the taxes you'll be able to get since they'll now be on the grid and required to report pay and pay taxes. Put them at the back of the line for citizenship.

I know that won't be easy, and many of them would be afraid it would be a trap. But...we have to do something.

Actually ENFORCE existing laws about hiring illegal immigrants.

Increase the workforce of border patrol agents -all the technology and walls you can throw on the border won't do crap for the really determined, you need people (and probably dogs sniffing around) to really be effective.

Finally - Learn to accept that throughout American history there have been spikes in immigration, complete with every complaint you've heard about mexicans(legal and illegal) being leveled against; eastern europeans, Irish, Chinese etc.

Realize that it takes several generations for immigrant communities to assimilate into the broader society, but many will always remain segregated. Seriously. We've still got chinatowns for god's sake.

I will say this; in high school we had to go to assemblies for Cinco de freaking Mayo. It pissed me off because it was the holiday of a foreign country. A national holiday, celebrating a BATTLE. So I skipped it (of course I skipped all but my first assembly in 9th and my last in 12th....but that's just splitting hairs)

I do not agree with my city/state/national government celebrating in an official capacity the holiday of a foriegn nation. It would be like Mexico celebrating a battle of the American Revolution.

Things I believe in.

Things I believe in:


First: The 9th amendment: The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.

To paraphrase Ben Franklin - "He that would give up essential liberties for limited safety, deserves neither."

The right to bear arms. People should have to right to own a gun. Gun safety, not gun control, is necessary to prevent accidental shootings. Criminals will acquire guns whether they're legal or not. However, most people have no use for assault rifles, outside of collecters.

The rights of free speech and to assemble and criticize the government. The right to march for your beliefs. The right to speak your mind, even if it's disgusting hate speech. To Paraphrase: "I may not like what you have to say, but I will fight to the death to defend your right to say it."

Precedents can be powerful. Censor a neo-nazi, and then you set a precedent to censor the people who have something constructive to say.

Further on criticizing the government. As our declaration says, we have the right to remove our government from power and replace it with a new one, should they abuse their power and our rights. My preferred weapon is the vote.

Those who have have a moral duty to assist those who have not. And I don't mean handouts. Teach a man to fish, don't catch the fish for him. This goes for humanitarian efforts in foriegn countries as well as at home. Example: There's this wonderful aid program that teaches people how to care for and raise animals, such as chickens for eggs and dairy cows, to help them get food. They don't just give them the animals, they teach them how to care for them (instead of slaughtering them for immediate food).

We have a duty to intervene when faced with crimes that go beyond the scope of local governments to handle (or when it is the local governments committing the crime). (see: Rwanda. Nazi Germany. Darfur. Cambodia. Bosnia. Nanking.)

When invading a foriegn country(whether people agree with the reasoning or not is irrelevant for this point), for god's sake, have a cohesive, intelligent strategy for the immediate aftermath and the months that follow. Hope for a quick occupation but expect and be prepared for a long bloody one. (I knew I knew I KNEW we'd be dealing with an insurgency for years and years, as soon as I realized they had no plan to deploy massive ground troops to keep the peace)

Freedom of privacy. Government should stay out of my personal business. No, I don't have anything to hide, but it's the principle of the matter. Precedents can be powerful.

Further: 'If you've done nothing wrong why do you care' is stupid. Being complacent is stupid. Humans are fallible - give them power and it will corrupt them. Therefore, government should be heavily watched when it comes to privacy matters - all it takes is one person with an agenda and all good intentions go out the window.

Government should ESPECIALLY stay out of the bedroom when it involves consenting legal adults.

Freedom of the press. However, I believe the Press has a responsibility to those they might place in harms way by the publishing of stories, but they still must balance passing on information to keep the public informed, especially when it comes to the conduct of our government.

Freedom of Religion. I don't give a crap about what you believe so long as you don't force your beliefs upon me, or try to get the government to do it for you.

Separation of Church and State. Government should stay out of religion, and vice vers(save in the case of safety - see: that whole LDS offshoot mess). Those two sharing the same bed can sometimes be scary, and for those who do not believe the same as what influences the government, scary isn't a good enough word.

That race, religion, gender, sexual orientation or identity don't matter shit to me. I judge you on your merits.

That stereotypes and prejudice do happen for good or ill. The question is overcoming them.

That when applying for a job, or for college, the above should not matter either. And in fact when applying, there should be no mention of any of that. IE: If you're black or white, and I'm hiring you, I shouldn't know until meeting you for the interview - I should pick those I call to interview based on their resumes and not their race/religion/gender, therefore I don't want to even know what their race/religion and gender is.

Gay and Lesbian people have every right to pursue (un)happiness. If they want to be miserable like the rest of us, let them get married too! It's not like straight people have any room to talk about destroying marriage, if you go by divorce rates.

Pro-choice(NOT pro-abortion). A woman has a right to an abortion. I do not particularly agree with it and would not do it myself were I a woman, but in the end it would her choice.

Prostitution should be heavily regulated and legal. Like gun crime, it happens, legal or not, and at least if it's legal there's at least some measure of safety(from what I've researched there hasn't been a single case of VD out of a NV brothel since it was legalized and regulated. Ever) for both the clients and the women themselves. Plus? Tax revenue can be used to pay for the regulation, and can also be directed into other pursuits.

If stupidity was illegal, we'd all have criminal records.
