Okay, this is just a rough outline. If no one likes this setting, we can still take the basic idea and alter it to something else XD I like the stat/character limit/etc part.
Setting:
Earth, circa 2010.
Zombie Apocalypse, beginning to middles stages(Approx. 30-45% of the world infected).
Details TBA.
Primarily journal/aim/creative writing rp with mild pen&paper/dice rpg elements.
Writing style: Primarily lazy style, but one may write long-form if they want.
Zombie type:
Biological disease.
Mindless, soulless. Dead. Blood doesn't flow, it's congealed.
No 'willpower' can resist once bitten. Once a zombie, the person they were? = gone.
Cannot be reasoned with, or plead with. They just want to eat you. All of you.
A limb bite can be dealt with by removing said limb.
Being slashed by a zombie's fingernails/claws carries a small chance of getting infected as well, determined by luck.
Also, you don't want to get their fluids on you if you've got open wounds.
Sourcebook:
"The Zombie Survival Guide" by Max Brooks.
Will attempt to upload a digital copy, but isn't required. The important stuff I'll put on a website or a post. Awesome read though >.> But again, not required. The important stuff will be available. Plus? I want to have a character who will carry it with her and reference it, then tell people she told them so when they don't listen to her XD
Base rules:
Up to three characters per mun.
One character of mun's choice designated 'immune' in terms of becoming infected, and gets a large bonus to luck.
Second character of mun's choice gets a small bonus to luck.
Third character recieves no bonuses or minuses.
If a 'luck' roll is too low for #2 and #3 and they're bitten, they're zombies.
Mun is then free to play a new character if they choose.
Characters can and will die.
Probably frequently.
Muns are encouraged to play npcs frequently, and to kill them, frequently.
Even beloved npcs.
Especially beloved npcs.
Immunity note:
Muns are free to share or not.
They must tell the mods (me) but they can keep secret from others, so that no one knows if that character yours is getting close to is fuxxored or not until something happens!
Character 'groups':
Will start off with groups of 2-4 characters (preferably no more or less than 2 muns, but not required) making their way to a 'safe' zone within their country.
Gradually they should all come together.
For the time being, will restrict starting characters to North America, Europe, and Australia.
In that order.
Stats: I moved them to the bottom because it's a bit boring and I want the other info to be more prominant right now.
Weapons: Characters will have one main weapon, one secondary, a designated specialized weapon. There will be a guide to the effectiveness of weapon types against zombies. (EX: Handguns? Are actually not the best weapon against a zombie, because of range and accuracy issues(in terms of emotional stability when fighting zombies. They're very good backup weapons, though. But not as effective as movies would have you believe), neither is a heavy machine gun.)
Gear: All characters will have a basic hiking backpack to fill with gear of their choice. Certain types of clothing will have a minus to certain stats. High heels will DRASTICALLY affect all stats!
Typical Zombie Encounter: Muns are free to rp and and describe the fight however they choose. Characters will roll luck, and probably one or more of the other stats. That determines if they are bitten or not, or severely injured. Immune characters can still be bitten, and even killed, if their mun chooses to do so. Severity of injury is however the mun chooses, guided by what they rolled. Roll a double 1, and you KNOW that character is fucked, but they only die if you want them to XD
Stats:
There will be stats.
Sorta. I want creative freedom to be the most important, but I also think there should be a slightly random element.
Stats are generally only to determine how much can be lifted/carried/pushed, and just how lucky your character is.
Each of the three characters is allowed a 'base' stat which gets a bonus(not counting the luck bonus). I intend to keep rolling to a minimum. The most rolling will be when a character is created. Otherwise, the only rolls will be when faced with either a zombie encounter, or something like..breaking through a barricade. Most important stat is luck.
Characters must also roll for one minus, stat of mun's choice. Stat is chosen before points allocated, rolled for after points allocated.
Luck: Determines if bitten when in a crowd of zombies, how often you get a headshot, if your axe gets stuck in a zombie's head, etc.
Strength: How much you can lift/push/pull/crush/destroy.
Dexterity: How nimble you are, how easily you can evade.
Stamina: How much damage you can take, how much you can carry. Also, how long you can go without rest, food and/or water.
Example:
Character name
Gender
Age
Misc info
Luck: 15 (+20 immune bonus) - 35
Strength: 10
Dexterity: 15 (-4 limp penalty) - 11
Stamina: 12
On further thought, may just allow muns to have a 'pool' and allocate stats how they see fit. In fact, I like that idea a lot.
Example
4 stats. 55 points
Luck - 20
Strength - 10
Dexterity - 20 (-4 limp penalty): 16
Stamina - 5
Muns may then roll 3 six sided die, and divide the result by half to get a bonus.
Example:
Rolled 14
Luck - 20 (+10 immune bonus): 30
Strength - 15
Dexterity - 20 (-4 limp penalty): 16
Stamina - 5 (+7 bonus): 12
